The Inner Net

Recently I came to the blunt realization that my prayer life was pitiful! I would spend an hour or so in Gods Word and then I would have no time to talk with my Saviour! What good is the head knowledge if I am not asking my Father for help in applying it? What good is getting the prayer e-mail each week if I am not remembering my friends in prayer over it? Prayer is asking God to do something we can't do. And since theres a ton of stuff I can't do on my own, I had better be praying if I want to grow! Anyways, the Lord really convicted me about it and I started setting aside more time in my day to be able to spend that time in prayer and it has been so neat to see the results! He answered so many prayers from the little to the small. From, Him granting me forgiveness, to healing Chris, to bringing the college students home safely, to helping the Stauffers Grandma through heart surgery, etc. I want to share one specific example tho. My Dad has really high blood pressure and he has to take pills for it. Each year he has to go for a test to see if his blood pressure is good enoughto be able to drive truck. It is a series of tests, and the first two times he had his blood pressure taken he way over the limit of what you can have and still be able to drive. You can't go over 140 over 90. If my Dad didn't pass he wouldn't be able to coninue his job. He had one last test to see whether or not he would pass and this time I started really praying about it. My Dad called home after the appointment and told me he had passed with a 140 over an 87 !!!!! Talk about cutting it close! ;) But God answered my prayer and it was so exciting to experience! Ok, I have to end this post with this song that I have really been thinking about recently because it so clearly shows how important prayer is! If we could just learn to take everything to God in prayer our lives wouldn't be so complex! ;)

In Awe of Him,
Chrystal

What a Friend we have in Jesus, all our sins and griefs to bear.
What a privilege to carry, everything to God in Prayer.
O what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear,
All because we do not carry, everything to God in Prayer.

Have we trials and temptations? Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged; take it to the Lord in prayer.
Can we find a friend so faithful, who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness; take it to the Lord in prayer.

Are we weak and heavy laden, cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge, take it to the Lord in prayer.
Do thy friends despise, forsake thee? take it to the Lord in prayer;
in his arms He'll take and shield thee, thou wilt find a solace there.
