Standin' for Jesus

Peter implied three times that he loved the Lord, and then he repeatedly denied Him three times. I think that we all are guilty of betraying our Master like this. We would probably all agree that we would take a stand for our friends if we overheard somebody down talking them. But we also like to claim that Jesus is our best and closest friend, so why don't we ever take a stand for him? It's ridiculous that we can hear some one taking God's name in vain and not even say anything to them about it! At least Peter felt bad after he didn't take a stand for our Lord! We don't even bother to think about our sinful mistakes, just like it's something normal! It isn't normal, and it isn't right that we would just do something like that! How can we just sit back and not even let our conscience bother us about this?! But just like so many other times, we let pride overcome us, and we fall into sin. I find this being too much of a problem even in our Christian homes today. Never let a word like this just pass you by without even a thought or two of who they are talking about. Be willing to stand for our Maker.

Snerge, =)
Ok, little brothers are NOT supposed to be able to make the older sibling feel so guilty! ;) But you have a very good point there. There are many times that I have heard/seen something that was said/done against my God and have done nothing about it. I guess, its just the human nature taking over and it doesn't want to be "embarrassed" of what others will think if you are outspoken about something you believe is wrong. And that kind of goes along with what Mr. Huber was talking about on Wed. If you're willing to take a stand for what you know is right, even if you may get hurt or be ridiculed, because youre doing it for the right reasons you will be happy, content and won't really care what the world thinks of you! "And be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled."

Oh and another thing....you said that Peter at least felt bad for what he did. Youre right...and you know what? God blessed him for his repentant spirit and was able to use him to bring about the salvation of three THOUSAND souls! We serve such a merciful and forgiving God and its great to know that He will still use us, even though we fail Him, if we keep coming back to Him.

P.S. btw- Nice quote by you ;)
